You don't have to have places to go to make memories with her you can watch the clouds go by and see what shapes you can make you could go fishing with her or even build a bird house with her anything can be fun even a game with cards like uno or go fish or old maid or a board game like monopoly or sorry as long as you spend time with her it will make it special. Good Luck

I think the problem we face in our generation as parents is that we're used to being entertained...
Small towns pose a problem when you're looking for ways to get out of the house and away from the tv -- I know this because we just moved from a small town! ![]() Do you know of any local artists in your community who might give art lessons? Piano lessons? Guitar lessons? Vocal lessons? Perhaps you can get your daughter started with lessons of some sort (don't forget dance and tumbling). I used to LOVE going fishing with my dad.... find a river or pond nearby.. what dad doesn't love to fish? It's a good excuse for you to get some good fishin' in, but remember - she'll need your complete attention, so only bring ONE FISHING POLE. We found that when we took poles for everyone, we'd sort of tune out our kids because we love fishing so much. To avoid the temptation - ONE POLE for each child. Trust me, when they start to reel one in, it's your chance to fish. ![]() Star gazing at night - lots of inexpensive, good telescopes at amazon.com! Got trees? If you have a tree big enough, build a tire swing.. there's nothing better. Build a bird feeder together .. let your child paint it.. then everyday, she gets to check and make sure it has food, and enjoy watching the fruits of her labor. Take photos with a digital camera (or your cell phone), print them out on your computer, and let her cut them out with safety scissors, and glue them onto paper to make album pages for your wife, grandparent, etc. ![]() Make homemade playdough! Recipes easy to find at allrecipes.com Order a book about at-home-science-experiments for little ones - encourage an interest in math and science while having fun! Do a search for zoos or wildlife sanctuaries in your area - you'd be surprised - they're out there. Even going to a local fish hatchery can be exciting! Dig for worms! Plant plants and build a garden (tomatoes, carrots, corn - easy stuff)! Remember tetherball? Build (or buy) a tetherball pole, and have fun! Sidewalk chalk - my tween daughter STILL loves that stuff.. LOL Make a four-square pattern, and play four-square with your kids...

What I do with my kiddos is simple....we go out to parks or playgrounds and just play. It doesn't last all day, no, but we do our best. Trust me, I live in a small town in Alaska where not much goes on. Sometimes we make cookies, or go down to the craft store and buy inexpensive crafts to do together at home. We also rent movies and eat popcorn on cold days or do capture the flag or do a scavenger hunt. There's tons of things to do that don't cost much or not at all. Good luck
