I am unsure why he would be doing this or even if it is intentional....... I would think he wouldn't like sleeping in it! Like many others have said maybe he is a deep sleeper!? I am sure with time it will past but, I don't think spanking will solve anything at this point...... I can't say I understand what you are going through because my son has been fully potty trained night and day since he was 2 1/2 years old but, I can say if my child were 6 and still having issues rather than spanking him I would ask him questions..... You know the common question; why did you pee in your bed? Are you scared to get up at night? Maybe, at 6 he can explain how he is felling or what may be going on! Good luck and hope this may help!

I went through it as a child, for almost 12 years. I found that i was just a really deep sleeper, nothing would wake me. On several occasions that i do remember, i would have a dream of going in a toilet, and this actually did wake me up, after the fact of already wetting the bed. Deep down i think that it was the starting point of my sub-concious trying to tell me something, it was not too much longer after these dreams started was when i broke the cycle. Perhaps ask your child if he/she is having these same type of dreams?? if so maybe they are on their way!!

I know it is hard, my 4 year old and 6 year old both wet the bed. But I had the same problem untill I was almost 13 years old, and I have a cousin that is 25 and still has the problem. Most people do grow out of it but some don't. It could very well be and underdeveloped bladder which was my problem.

SleepDoc still works just like it's supposed to. Preventing bed wetting, instead of alerting of it.

My 6 and 8 year old boys both wet their beds every night! It was very frustrating. My 8 year old started doing a little better, but he still had pretty frequent wet nights. When we rearranged the boys' furniture last week, my 8 year old somehow seemed to have something click. Now, as long as he goes to the bathroom RIGHT before going to bed, he is staying dry at nights (now, 6 nights in a row!). I don't think the key is going right before bed (we've tried that before), but he seems to be growing out of bedwetting--hurray!
Actually, strange as it may sound, I think putting an alarm clock in his room has helped him. He really enjoys seeing the time (it's projected onto the ceiling) and waking up to the alarm. In the past, if he wet his bed, he'd usually end up moving into our bed, but now, he prefers to stay in his room so he can wake to his alarm clock. By doing everything he can to stay dry, his "reward" is that alarm--let's hope that when he reaches adolescence and hates alarm clocks his bladder will have settled into an unchanging habit! |
