How do you encourage good manners in your kids - bribery, threats or patient encouragement?!

We use ourselves as examples to teach our children I say please and thank you quite often and my kids tend to follow example if they forget we just give them a gentle reminder. I don't expect my children to do something I wouldn't do so if I want them to say it I feel I need to say it too.

i have a 5 year old with special needs he can hear just not talk real will so when they told me to teach him sign lauges the fist sings i tought him were please and thank you he some times for get to use please we just remind him to say please or in his case sign please and when he wants some thing we have since tought him the rest of the maner sign but he still mainly uses please and thank you

My parents used to spank me just to get me to have good manners, (Trust me, it did not work) They should reward your child for good manners, they watch the older kids for to look up to and be what they are, I am a good role model for children! I love kids so much! Teaching them manners is the easy part for me!
