Any recommendations how to remove the night feeds. My 11th month old still want them whatever we try
including - weakening them - ensure he has a good meal about 1.5 hours before sleep |

How often do you feed your child a day before he/she sleeps?

breakfast 7am ,
lunch 12:00, dinner 17:00 used to have midmorning and afternoon snacks , but were dropped to to allow better feeding at the 3 main meals, this made no difference to the night feeding. |

Sounds like a comfort thing. Try a sippy cup, snack and a couple of children's books.
He's old enough to understand what you are reading.

My 15 mnth old still breastfeeds at night, all throughout the night. A few weeks ago I tried to cut him off cold turkey and it worked for about a week and now he still screams for it every 2-3 hours. I'm trying to ignore his cries at night now because it IS just a comfort suck, nothing more ( I know that because his diaper is fine, he's full from dinner, so he's not hungry).
If your baby is eating and drinking enough during the day, then you know it's just comfort. Try ignoring his cries and see how it goes. How long does your baby cry for before you give in and feed him??? |
