Need Advice

My two year old will not wear a jacket. I have tried letting him pick out one that he likes, but he won't wear it. I have told him that he could not go out unless he put on his coat, and the tantrum just got worse. I have also pointed out some of his fav characters from books and shows that have jackets on.. Any ideas/advice would be very much appreciated.

My baby is like that too and I just force the jacket on him and then when it's on I hold his arms for a few minutes so that he doesn't pull it off. He still doesn't like putting a jacket on, but I get it on him and then he's fine. I would try that and see if it works for you.

Let him go without a jacket. He'll get cold. Next time he'll want a jacket. Natural consequences. If you're going to be gone a really long time stick the jacket in the back of the car or something. He might not get cold. He might have a metabolism different from yours and not get cold as easily.

Layer his clothes when it's chilly out. Start with an undershirt, then t-shirt, long sleeve, and finish with a fleece sweatshirt.
